So, what is glicerol?
Glycerol, also known as glycerin or glycerine, is a sweet, colorless, odorless liquid that is widely used in the food industry as a humectant, sweetener, and thickener. It is a polyol compound, which means it has three hydroxyl groups that make it highly soluble in water and alcohol. Glycerol is derived from fats and oils, and can be produced synthetically through various chemical processes. It is commonly used in baked goods, confectionery, and beverages, as well as in personal care products such as soaps and lotions. Glycerol is also used in the pharmaceutical industry as a laxative and a preservative.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
