So, what is glucose-fruktose-sirup?
Glucose-fructose syrup, also known as high fructose corn syrup, is a sweetener derived from corn starch. It is commonly used as a substitute for sugar in processed foods due to its high fructose content, which provides a sweeter taste with less volume. The syrup is made by breaking down corn starch into glucose, then converting some of that glucose into fructose. The resulting syrup has a thick, viscous consistency and a sweet, caramel-like flavor. Despite its widespread use, some studies have linked high consumption of glucose-fructose syrup to health issues such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
