So, what is glycin?
Glycine, also known as glycin, is the smallest and simplest amino acid found in proteins and is classified as a non-essential amino acid since it can be synthesized by the human body. It plays a crucial role in the formation of collagen, the most abundant protein in the body that provides structure and support to skin, bones, tendons, and ligaments. Glycine is also involved in the production of DNA, RNA, and other important compounds. This versatile ingredient has a slightly sweet taste and is used in the food industry as a flavor enhancer and ingredient in protein supplements.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
