So, what is graisse oie?
Graisse d'oie, or goose fat, is a traditional ingredient in French cuisine known for its rich, buttery flavor and silky texture. This luxurious fat is rendered from the fatty tissue of geese and has a high smoke point, making it ideal for frying, roasting, and sautéing. Its unique composition also makes it a popular choice for pastry crusts, adding a delicate crispness and enhancing the flavor of sweet or savory fillings. Graisse d'oie is also rich in oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that is believed to have numerous health benefits, including reducing inflammation and lowering cholesterol levels.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
