So, what is grassi idrogenati?
Grassi idrogenati, also known as hydrogenated fats, are a type of fat commonly used in processed foods as a preservative and to enhance flavor and texture. Hydrogenation involves adding hydrogen atoms to liquid unsaturated fats, which turns them into solid fats at room temperature. While this process increases the shelf life of foods, it also creates trans fats, which have been linked to heart disease and other health issues. In recent years, there has been a push towards reducing or eliminating the use of hydrogenated fats in foods due to their negative health effects.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
