So, what is hidróxido de sodio?
Hidróxido de sodio, also known as sodium hydroxide or caustic soda, is a highly alkaline inorganic compound used in various food processing applications. It is commonly used to adjust pH levels, neutralize acids, and act as a leavening agent in baked goods. Although it is considered safe for consumption in small quantities, it can be corrosive if handled improperly. Hidróxido de sodio is commonly found in products such as chocolates, cocoa powder, and caramel coloring, and is an essential ingredient in the production of many types of food.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
