So, what is huile de beurre?
Huile de beurre, also known as clarified butter oil, is a delicious and versatile ingredient that is perfect for adding rich, buttery flavor to a variety of dishes. Made by slowly simmering butter until the milk solids separate from the fat, then skimming off the impurities, this golden liquid has a high smoke point and can be used in high-heat cooking methods like frying and sautéing. It's also a great alternative for people who are lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy since it contains almost no lactose or casein. Use huile de beurre to add depth and complexity to sauces, dressings, and marinades or drizzle over popcorn, roasted vegetables, and grilled meats for a decadent finishing touch.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
