So, what is huiles palme?
Huiles de palme, or palm oils, are vegetable oils extracted from the fruit of the oil palm tree. These oils are widely used in the food industry due to their unique chemical composition and functional properties. They are semi-solid at room temperature, making them ideal for use in baked goods, confectionery, and processed foods. Palm oil is also a common ingredient in margarine, ice cream, and other food products due to its stability and resistance to oxidation. However, the production of palm oil has been linked to deforestation, habitat destruction, and other environmental issues, leading to increased efforts to promote sustainable palm oil production.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
