So, what is jarabe de glúcosa?
Jarabe de glucosa, also known as glucose syrup, is a sweet and viscous liquid that is commonly used in the food industry as a sweetener, thickener, and humectant. It is made by breaking down starch molecules into smaller chains of glucose molecules through a process called hydrolysis. Jarabe de glucosa is often used in candy making, baked goods, and beverages to improve texture, prevent crystallization, and enhance flavor. Due to its high viscosity and water-binding properties, it can also be used as a substitute for sugar in some recipes. Additionally, jarabe de glucosa has a longer shelf life than sugar and is less prone to fermentation, making it a popular ingredient in industrial food production.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
