So, what is konjak?
Konjac, also known as Amorphophallus konjac, is a root vegetable native to Southeast Asia. It is widely used as a dietary supplement and ingredient in many traditional Asian dishes. Konjac has a unique texture that is gelatinous and slightly crunchy, making it a popular substitute for noodles and rice. It is low in calories and high in fiber, making it a great choice for those looking to lose weight or improve digestion. Additionally, konjac contains a compound called glucomannan, which has been shown to have potential health benefits such as reducing cholesterol levels and improving blood sugar control.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
