So, what is kurkuma?
Kurkuma, also known as turmeric, is a bright yellow spice commonly used in Indian, Middle Eastern, and Southeast Asian cuisine. It comes from the root of the Curcuma longa plant and is known for its warm, slightly bitter flavor with a hint of ginger. Kurkuma is also used as a natural dye, giving dishes a vibrant golden hue. Beyond its culinary uses, kurkuma has been used in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory properties and is believed to offer several health benefits, including improved brain function and reduced risk of heart disease.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
