So, what is levure séche?
Levure séche, also known as dry yeast, is a powdered form of yeast used as a leavening agent in baking. It is made from a strain of yeast called Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which has been dried and deactivated, but can be reactivated in warm water. Levure séche is a popular ingredient in bread-making, as it helps dough to rise by producing carbon dioxide gas. It is also used in pastries, pizza crusts, and other baked goods. Levure séche is easy to use and has a long shelf life, making it a convenient pantry staple for home bakers.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
