So, what is miel de chataignier?
Miel de châtaignier, or chestnut honey, is a rich and intense flavored honey harvested from the nectar of chestnut tree flowers. The color of this honey can range from amber to dark brown, with a characteristic bitter-sweet taste and a slightly smoky aroma. It's high in minerals like potassium and magnesium, making it a healthy natural sweetener choice. Chestnut honey pairs well with strong cheeses like blue cheese, goat cheese, or pecorino, and it's also delicious drizzled over roasted meats or used as an ingredient in desserts like cakes and ice creams.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
