So, what is milk lactose?
Milk lactose is a natural sugar found in dairy products, including milk. It is a disaccharide composed of glucose and galactose, providing a sweet taste to milk. Lactose intolerance is an inability to digest lactose due to insufficient lactase enzyme production. Milk lactose can also be used as a food ingredient, acting as a sweetener or texturizer in various food products. Its low glycemic index makes it suitable for diabetics while providing essential nutrients like calcium, vitamin D, and protein. In addition, its prebiotic properties support gut health by promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
