So, what is natriummalate?
Natriummalate is a food ingredient that is commonly used as a flavor enhancer, acidity regulator, and buffering agent. It is a salt of malic acid and sodium, with a chemical formula of C4H4Na2O5. This white crystalline powder has a slightly sour taste and is soluble in water, making it easy to incorporate into a variety of food products. Natriummalate is commonly found in processed foods, such as baked goods, confectionery, and beverages, where it helps to balance the acidity and enhance the overall flavor profile. It is also used in sports drinks to help regulate electrolyte balance and improve endurance during physical activity.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
