So, what is oleylamide?
Oleylamide is a naturally occurring fatty acid amide that is commonly used as a food ingredient due to its unique properties. It is derived from oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid found in many plant and animal sources. Oleylamide is commonly used as a lubricant, release agent, and anti-block agent in the food industry. It has been shown to have excellent slip and anti-blocking properties, making it useful in food packaging applications. Additionally, it has been found to have potential health benefits, such as reducing inflammation and improving blood lipid profiles. Oleylamide is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is widely used in a variety of food products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
