So, what is palmeolie?
Palmeolie, also known as palm oil, is a vegetable oil derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree. It is a widely used ingredient in many food products due to its versatility and low cost. Palmeolie has a distinct reddish-orange color and a neutral taste, making it ideal for use in a variety of cooking applications, including frying, baking, and sautéing. While it is high in saturated fats, it also contains a high amount of vitamin E and antioxidants. However, concerns have been raised about the environmental impact of palm oil production, and efforts are being made to promote sustainable sourcing practices.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
