So, what is palmkernöl?
Palmkernöl, also known as palm kernel oil, is a type of oil extracted from the kernel of the oil palm fruit. This oil has a unique combination of properties that make it popular in the food industry. It is high in saturated fatty acids, making it stable at high temperatures, which makes it perfect for use in frying and baking. Additionally, it has a mild nutty flavor and a creamy texture, making it a versatile ingredient for a variety of dishes. Palmkernöl is also widely used in the production of soap, cosmetics, and biodiesel due to its emollient and lubricating properties. Despite its versatility, there is some controversy surrounding the environmental impact of palm kernel oil production, as it can contribute to deforestation and the destruction of habitats for endangered species.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
