So, what is persil?

Persil is a versatile herb that adds a unique flavor and aroma to a wide range of dishes. Also known as flat-leaf parsley, it is a member of the Apiaceae family and has bright green leaves that are flat and serrated. Persil has a slightly peppery taste with hints of citrus and is often used as a garnish or as a key ingredient in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. It is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, and is believed to have several health benefits, including aiding digestion and reducing inflammation. Whether used fresh or dried, persil adds a distinctive flavor to salads, soups, stews, and meat dishes.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like persil?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
