So, what is selleriesaat?
Selleriesaat is the German word for celery seeds, which are derived from the dried fruit of the Apium graveolens plant. These small, light brown seeds are highly aromatic with a slightly bitter, earthy flavor that is often compared to parsley or fennel. They are commonly used as a spice in pickling, soups, stews, and spice blends, as well as in traditional medicine for their anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, celery seeds are a good source of calcium, magnesium, and potassium, making them a healthy and flavorful addition to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
