So, what is senf?
Senf is a German word for mustard, a pungent and flavorful ingredient that is commonly used in cuisine around the world. Made from ground mustard seeds, vinegar, and various seasonings, senf is a versatile ingredient that can be used in sauces, dressings, marinades, and dips. Its distinct taste and aroma are often described as sharp, tangy, and slightly bitter, with a hint of sweetness. Senf can range in heat from mild to spicy, depending on the type of mustard seed used and the preparation method. Whether used as a condiment or a cooking ingredient, senf adds depth and complexity to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
