So, what is sirope de trigo?
Sirope de trigo, also known as wheat syrup, is a natural sweetener derived from wheat starch. This amber-colored syrup has a mild, sweet flavor and a thick, sticky texture, making it a versatile ingredient in various culinary applications. It contains complex carbohydrates, including maltose, glucose, and fructose, which provide a slower release of energy to the body than regular sugar. Sirope de trigo is a healthier alternative to refined sugar, as it is lower in calories and has a lower glycemic index. It is commonly used in baking, confectionery, and beverage production to add sweetness, texture, and color.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
