So, what is sodium phosphate.?
Sodium phosphate is a food ingredient commonly used as an emulsifier, thickener, and leavening agent. It is a salt made up of sodium cations and phosphate anions, and is available in several forms, including monosodium phosphate, disodium phosphate, and trisodium phosphate. Sodium phosphate is commonly added to processed meats to enhance their texture, flavor, and shelf life, and is also used in some baked goods, cheese products, and canned foods. However, excessive consumption of sodium phosphate can lead to health problems, including kidney damage and high blood pressure.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
