So, what is starter kultúra?
Starter kultúra is a traditional ingredient used in making sourdough bread and fermented foods. It is a natural culture of wild yeasts and lactobacilli that gives sourdough bread its distinct flavor and texture. Starter kultúra is made by mixing flour and water, and allowing it to ferment for several days. During fermentation, the natural yeasts and bacteria in the air and on the flour colonize the mixture, creating a living culture that can be used to leaven bread and ferment other foods. Using starter kultúra in bread-making produces a tangy, chewy loaf with a crispy crust, and provides health benefits such as aiding digestion and improving the nutritional content of the bread.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
