So, what is suet?
Suet is a high-energy animal fat that is commonly used in cooking and baking. Obtained from the kidneys and loins of cows and sheep, it is a solid, white substance that has a firm texture at room temperature. Suet is highly valued in culinary circles for its ability to add moisture, richness, and flavor to a wide range of dishes. It is often used in traditional British recipes, such as Christmas pudding, mincemeat pies, and steamed puddings. Suet can also be used as a cooking fat for frying and roasting, and it can be rendered to produce tallow for soap-making and candle-making.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
