So, what is tapioca?
Tapioca is a starchy, gluten-free ingredient that comes from the cassava root. It's a popular ingredient in many traditional dishes in Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa. Tapioca pearls are small, translucent spheres that are often used in desserts and bubble tea drinks. Tapioca flour is commonly used as a thickener in soups, sauces, and gravies, and it can also be used as a substitute for wheat flour in gluten-free baking. Tapioca has a slightly sweet flavor and a chewy texture that makes it a versatile ingredient in both sweet and savory dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
