So, what is tartrate de sodium?
Sodium tartrate is a colorless crystalline salt with a mildly acidic taste. It is often used as a food additive and can be found in a variety of processed foods, including soft drinks, candies, and baked goods. As a food additive, sodium tartrate acts as an emulsifier, preventing ingredients from separating and improving texture. It can also be used as a leavening agent in baking. Sodium tartrate is considered safe for consumption in moderate amounts and is approved by regulatory agencies around the world.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
