So, what is und diphosphate?
Und diphosphate, also known as sodium acid pyrophosphate or SAPP, is a food ingredient commonly used as a leavening agent in baking products. It helps dough and batter rise by producing carbon dioxide gas when it reacts with other ingredients such as baking soda or yeast. SAPP is also used as a pH adjuster, emulsifier, and preservative in various processed foods including meats, dairy products, and canned fruits. It is considered safe for human consumption at levels approved by regulatory agencies, but excessive intake may cause digestive discomfort.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
