So, what is veau?
Veau is a French term that refers to the meat of a young calf. The meat is prized for its tender, delicate texture and subtle flavor. Veal is commonly used in French cuisine and can be prepared in a variety of ways, including sautéed, braised, or roasted. Because veal is leaner than beef, it cooks quickly and is best served rare or medium-rare. It is often paired with rich sauces, herbs, and aromatics to enhance its flavor. When choosing veal, look for pale pink meat with a fine, velvety texture.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
