So, what is vegetable fat?
Vegetable fat refers to a type of fat that is derived from plant sources such as palm, soybean, or sunflower. It is commonly used in food products as a substitute for animal-based fats, and is often preferred by those seeking a plant-based diet. Vegetable fat is solid at room temperature, making it a suitable ingredient for baked goods and spreads. It is also a source of unsaturated fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health. However, like all fats, it should be consumed in moderation to avoid excess calorie intake.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
