So, what is желатин?
Желатин, also known as gelatin, is a protein derived from collagen found in the connective tissues of animals. It is commonly used in food production as a gelling agent, thickener, stabilizer, and emulsifier. This versatile ingredient can be found in a wide range of products, including desserts, confectionery, meat products, and soups. Gelatin can also be used to make capsules, as well as in the production of photographic film and some medical applications. While it is an animal-derived product, there are vegetarian alternatives made from plants that can be used as a substitute for gelatin.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
