So, what is ‘ oignons?
Oignons, also known as onions, are a staple ingredient in cuisines all over the world. They are a member of the allium family, which also includes garlic, shallots, and leeks. Oignons have a distinct flavor and pungent aroma that can vary depending on the variety and cooking method used. They are used in a wide range of dishes, from soups and stews to stir-fries and salads. Oignons are also a good source of vitamins C and B6, as well as dietary fiber and antioxidants. Whether sautéed, caramelized, or pickled, oignons add depth and complexity to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
