So, what is angelica sinensis?
Angelica sinensis, commonly known as dong quai, is a perennial plant that grows in high-altitude regions of China, Korea, and Japan. It has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine as a remedy for menstrual cramps, menopausal symptoms, and other female reproductive issues. The plant's root is the most commonly used part, and it is often dried and ground into a powder or brewed into a tea. Angelica sinensis contains compounds that may have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and hormone-regulating effects. It is also sometimes used in culinary dishes, particularly in Chinese cuisine.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
