So, what is ansjovis?
Ansjovis, also known as anchovy in English, is a small saltwater fish that is most commonly found in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. These little fish pack a big punch when it comes to flavor, boasting a salty and pungent taste that can be described as both fishy and nutty. Ansjovis are often used to add depth of flavor to dishes such as pizza, Caesar salad, and pasta sauces. They are also commonly found in traditional recipes like puttanesca and tapenade. Despite their small size, ansjovis are a beloved ingredient in many cuisines around the world.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
