So, what is baie de genièvres?
Baie de genièvres, also known as juniper berries, is a small, blue-black fruit with a spicy and piney flavor that is commonly used as a seasoning in various culinary dishes. These berries are grown on juniper trees and are native to regions such as Europe, Asia, and North America. They are often used to flavor gin, but can also be used in savory dishes like stews, sauerkraut, and marinades, as well as sweet dishes like pies and cakes. In addition to their culinary uses, juniper berries have also been used for medicinal purposes, particularly in traditional herbal medicine.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
