So, what is cerebrosides?
Cerebrosides are a unique class of glycolipids found in various animal and plant tissues. They are composed of a sphingosine base, a fatty acid chain, and a carbohydrate group, which makes them amphipathic and able to form lipid bilayers. Cerebrosides play a critical role in cellular signaling, immune responses, and nervous system development and function. They are also known to exhibit anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antitumor properties. These versatile biomolecules have gained increasing attention in the food industry for their potential health benefits and functional properties as natural emulsifiers, stabilizers, and surfactants.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
