So, what is de queues de cerises?
"De queues de cerises" is a French term that translates to "cherry stems" in English. These stems are the slender, woody parts that connect the cherry fruit to the tree's branches. While typically discarded, cherry stems have recently gained attention for their potential health benefits, as they contain antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. They also have a slightly bitter and tangy taste, making them a unique addition to certain dishes or beverages. In traditional French cuisine, "de queues de cerises" are used to infuse flavor in liqueurs and syrups, as well as to make a tea that is said to aid digestion.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
