So, what is saccharine de potassium?
Saccharin de potassium is a calorie-free artificial sweetener that is commonly used as a sugar substitute in food and beverage products. It is derived from benzoic sulfinide and is approximately 200 to 700 times sweeter than sugar, depending on the concentration. Unlike sugar, saccharin does not raise blood sugar levels and is thus suitable for people with diabetes. However, it may have a bitter aftertaste in large quantities. Saccharin de potassium is often used in diet sodas, tabletop sweeteners, and sugar-free chewing gum.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
