So, what is des pectines?
Des pectines, also known as pectins, are a type of soluble fiber commonly found in fruits and vegetables. They are most commonly used as a gelling agent in the food industry to give products such as jams, jellies, and fruit preserves their thick, spreadable texture. Pectins can also be used as a thickener in soups and sauces, and as a stabilizer in dairy products. In addition to their culinary uses, pectins have been shown to have health benefits such as promoting digestive health and reducing cholesterol levels.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
