So, what is extraits légumes?
Extraits légumes, also known as vegetable extracts, are concentrated liquids derived from various vegetables. These extracts are typically made by simmering vegetables in water or a solvent to extract their natural flavors, aromas, and nutrients. The resulting liquid is then filtered, concentrated, and sometimes mixed with other ingredients to enhance its taste and nutritional value. Vegetable extracts are commonly used as flavorings and colorants in a variety of food products, such as soups, sauces, seasonings, and dressings. They also offer a convenient way to add the nutritional benefits of vegetables to recipes without the need for actual vegetables.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
