So, what is fd and c colors?
FD&C colors are synthetic food colorings that are widely used in the food industry to add vibrant hues to various food and beverage products. These colors are certified by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as safe for human consumption, and are commonly found in processed foods, beverages, and confectionery products. FD&C colors are often preferred over natural colors because they offer consistent and intense colors, and are more cost-effective. However, some studies have linked certain FD&C colors to hyperactivity in children and other health concerns, leading to increased consumer demand for natural alternatives.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
