So, what is laktoos?

Laktoos, also known as lactose, is a type of sugar that is commonly found in milk and other dairy products. It is made up of two simple sugars, glucose and galactose, and is an essential source of energy for the body. However, some people are unable to digest lactose properly due to a deficiency of lactase enzymes. This can lead to symptoms such as bloating, gas, and diarrhea. Laktoos is often used as an ingredient in food products such as baked goods, candy, and processed foods, and there are many lactose-free alternatives available for those who are intolerant.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like laktoos?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
