So, what is lanolin alcohol ethers?
Lanolin alcohol ethers are a group of naturally derived ingredients commonly used in personal care products and cosmetics. These compounds are synthesized from lanolin, a wax-like substance found in sheep's wool, through a process known as ethoxylation. The resulting ethers are a mixture of compounds that exhibit excellent emulsifying and moisturizing properties, making them ideal for use in skincare formulations. Lanolin alcohol ethers are also known for their ability to improve the texture and feel of products, making them a popular choice for high-end cosmetics. Despite their benefits, lanolin alcohol ethers are relatively uncommon in commercial products, as their production is labor-intensive and costly.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
