So, what is les échalotes?
Les échalotes, also known as shallots, are a small, flavorful member of the onion family. They have a slightly milder taste than onions, with a subtle sweetness and a hint of garlic. The bulbs are small and elongated, with a thin, papery skin that is easy to remove. Les échalotes are a popular ingredient in French cuisine, where they are often used to add depth of flavor to sauces, dressings, and soups. They are also delicious when roasted, grilled, or sautéed, and can be used to add flavor and texture to a wide range of dishes, from stews and casseroles to salads and omelets.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
