So, what is riz au jasmin?
Riz au jasmin, or jasmine rice, is a long-grain variety of rice that is highly valued for its delicate aroma and fluffy texture. Originally from Thailand, this rice is now widely cultivated in other countries as well. The fragrance of jasmine rice comes from the natural compound 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, which is produced during the drying process. Its subtle flavor and slightly sticky texture make it a popular choice for a variety of dishes, from stir-fries to sushi. Jasmine rice is also a good source of carbohydrates and provides essential nutrients such as thiamin and niacin.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
