So, what is mates?

Mates, also known as Yerba Mate, is a traditional South American beverage made from the leaves of the Ilex paraguariensis plant. The leaves are dried, ground, and then brewed in a gourd with hot water. Mates has a slightly bitter taste and contains a moderate amount of caffeine, making it a popular alternative to coffee or tea. It is also known for its numerous health benefits, such as its high antioxidant content, potential to boost energy and focus, and aid in weight loss. Mates is commonly consumed in countries like Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil, and has gained popularity worldwide in recent years.
