So, what is merlans?
Merlans, also known as whiting fish, are a type of small, delicate white fish that is commonly found in the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. With a tender texture and a mild, slightly sweet flavor, merlans are a popular ingredient in many European cuisines. They can be prepared in a variety of ways, including pan-frying, grilling, or baking, and are often used in dishes such as fish stews, soups, and fishcakes. Rich in protein and low in fat, merlans are a nutritious and flavorful addition to any seafood-based meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
