So, what is milk sugars?
Milk sugars, also known as lactose, are a natural sugar found in milk and dairy products. Lactose is a disaccharide made up of glucose and galactose molecules, which provide a sweet taste and contribute to the nutritional value of dairy products. While lactose intolerance affects some individuals who have difficulty digesting lactose, it is an essential nutrient for others. In addition to its role as a food ingredient, lactose is also used in the pharmaceutical industry as a filler or binder in medications.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
