So, what is natrio nitritas?
Natrio nitritas, also known as sodium nitrite, is a salt commonly used as a food preservative and color fixative. It is often added to cured meats, such as bacon and hot dogs, to prevent bacterial growth and maintain their pinkish color. However, excessive consumption of sodium nitrite has been linked to adverse health effects, including an increased risk of cancer and other diseases. While it is approved for use in small quantities by regulatory agencies, it is important to consume it in moderation and to be aware of the potential risks associated with its use.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
