So, what is olive noires?
Olives noires, or black olives, are a versatile and flavorful ingredient commonly used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. These small, plump fruits are harvested when fully ripe, then cured in a salt brine or sometimes dried in the sun. The result is a soft, juicy olive with a rich, slightly bitter taste that adds depth and complexity to a wide range of dishes. Black olives can be used in salads, stews, pastas, pizzas, and more, and their bold, distinctive flavor pairs well with a variety of other ingredients, from sharp cheeses to sweet fruits.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
